Trick Or Treat

If you're still in a Halloween mood, then check out this low-budget, soon-to-be-cult-classic film, Pro Wrestlers vs Zombies. As it says in the film's official website, Pro Wrestlers vs Zombies is "exactly as it sounds -- sports entertainment icons and local ring talent using their signature fighting styles, athleticism, and anything they can get their hands on to fend off the undead." You can read the synopsis here. The film stars Roddy Piper, Shane Douglas, "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, Matt Hardy, and Kurt Angle alongside lesser known ring stars like Ryan "Steel City Prodigy" Mitchell, Ryan Edmonds, Shane Taylor, and Facade. Playing the villain is independent wrestler Ashton Amherst. You can watch the trailer here.

Ashton Amherst plays the villain.

Meanwhile, independent wrestler Alexander Chamberlain (formerly known as Aleksander Chekhov) has made another video for Cameron Matthews. As Lane Hartley, Chamberlain does a squash job on Braden in Bodybuilder Punishment. See more on this match (and how to get it) here.

Lastly, here are some pics that my good friend David took of one of NXT's referees doing a little cardio prior to the night's event. David can't recall the name of this beefcake ref, but he says this guy was actually a wrestler himself before coming to NXT. Can anyone out there identify him?

Last -Minute Halloween Costume Ideas

If you still don't know what to dress as for Halloween, here are some wrestlers whose ring gear may give you ideas. Easiest costume to pull off...a Lucha Libre mask (and tights, if you have them).

No Lucha Libre mask? No problem. Something macabre will work just as well. The Freak (aka Rob Terry) always looks like he's dressed for Halloween.

Or maybe a mask like the one UK wrestler Thunder wears.
The gladiator is always a good look, just ask Mr. Atlantis.
If you prefer something savage-looking, take a cue from Caveman Chad.
Got a top hat, vest, and walking stick lying around the house? You can go as this, whatever it is.
A military-themed costume is kind of easy to put together, right Sgt. Major?
Jordan Miles mixes an old-timey carnival look with contemporary pieces. It's not Halloween-scary, but it's costume-y enough.
You want to come as a wrestler, but you don't want to show it all off? Wear a fancy robe or tough-guy cover-up.
Here's another pre-match garment that does the job (thanks, Drew Gulak).

Not shy? Come as a sexy stripper/wrestler like Sexy Kev (seen here with Mad Manson).
In a crazy retro mood? Let Macho Man Randy Savage be your style inspiration.
And if you don't want to dress as a wrestler, but still want to allude to pro wrestling, you can always come as a referee like WWE's Rod Zapata.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Because it's Halloween.

And here he is without the mask and in serious bodybuilding mode.

What? Leon Shah Has Retired Already?

Sad news for fans of British wrestler Leon Shah. Apparently, the tall, dark, and handsome wrestler has retired from professional wrestling as of October. Shah hasn't said why he's retiring, but I wouldn't be surprised if we see him in a British movie or TV series soon.
A recent pic of Shah on vacation.
It's only been a year and a half since I first started blogging about Shah and I wish he had decided to stick it out in wrestling for at least a couple more years. As a tribute to this charismatic ring star, here's a look back at some of his best pics on this blog. To see all his photos, click on his name in the Label section at the bottom of this post.
The photo that started it all.
