Muscle Monday : Drew Donovan

If independent wrestler Drew Donovan looks familiar to you, it may be because you remember him from his stint as Chase Donovan in WWE/NXT. Back then, Donovan had the heft, but not the definition, cuts, and mass he now has. Check out his old look (last image in this post) and compare it with what he looks like these days. Huge difference!

Putting Out Fire

You may know T.J. Perkins as a former independent wrestler who was on the roster of several noted promotions such as Ring Of Honor, New Japan Pro Wrestling, Consuelo Mundial de Lucha Libre, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). Currently signed to WWE where he was the inaugural WWE Cruiserweight Champion, Perkins has a history of wrestling under several personas/names. He has wrestled as Pinoy Boy, Cobra II, Havana Pitbull III, Manik, Puma, Suicide, Sydistiko, and TJP ever since he made his debut in 1998.

One of Perkins' more colorful characters was the one he played a few years ago in the wrestling-meets-burlesque-and-comedy revue Lucha VaVoom. There he wrestled as El Bombero (The Fireman), a high-flying luchador with a sexy firefighter gimmick. Thanks to blog reader Timmy for bringing this interesting piece of trivia to my attention.

Tyson Times Two

Just when I thought French wrestler Tyson dos Santos (formerly known as Tyson Furia) had become inactive comes two matches which I recently found on beaury mathieu's YouTube channel. I'll provide links to both matches below, but first, a warning. The video of both matches is shaky and often goes out of focus for a split second. If that bothers you, skip the video and check out my screen caps instead. Ok, first up, the match between Dos Santos and Striker which was posted to YouTube on August 2016.

The second match is also between Dos Santos and Striker and if you watch this and the first one, you may notice that the moves are almost exactly the same. This match, however, was posted to YouTube in February 2016. Guess they didn't rewrite the script all that much. Also, the camera work is even shakier and more out of focus than the first one, so don't say I didn't warn you. But thanks to beauty mathieu for uploading them. Shaky video is better than NO video.

Simply Sammy

Here's a batch of pics of one of the "new faces" featured on this blog early this month, 23 year old Texan native Sammy Guevara. To see Guevara in action, go to his YouTube Channel. Click here to see a recent match between Guevara and Cody Rhodes.
