One To Watch In 2013

Who do I predict will be the next big thing in the WWE Universe? This guy, Roman Reigns. You just have to look at these pics to see what I mean. He's got the looks, the build, and the charisma to be the next Dwayne Johnson or John Cena. The WWE bigwigs have him portraying a heel now, but you can bet that once he starts getting noticed, he'll go face and become a huge, huge star. Want to know more about him? Read his Wikipedia entry here.  And you can watch his interview here.

Ring Flash's Best of 2012

Photographer Victoria Longtin of Ring Flash Photography has taken hundreds if not thousands of photos of pro wrestling action in 2012 and she recently selected 95 images that she considers her favorites of the year. From that 95, I picked 10 of my favorites. Here they are in no particular order.

PCW's Hot Wrestling Action

It was a Standing Room Only crowd that watched Vic Capri wrestle Rion Skillz in PCW's Quest for the Cup 2012 event held on Dec. 15. As PCW describes it on their website, it was "a night of hot wrestling action." Looking at these images of Capri, I'd have to agree.

Is this some kind of new wrestling move?

Match outcome - Capri lost to Skillz.

Pepper Parks Takes His Shirt Off

Although he wasn't scheduled to wrestle in CZW's Cage of Death show held on December 8, Pepper Parks entered the ring between matches if only to take his shirt off and talk to the crowd. Hey, I'm not complaining.

Time for Tama Tonga

Making his first appearance here on Beefcakes of Wrestling is Tama Tonga. I had never heard of Tonga until blog follower Latinorazzler emailed me some pics of him last week. Born in the USA, Tama (6 ft. tall, 210 pounds) made his professional debut in 2008. He has wrestled in Japan and currently wrestles for the Mexican lucha federation CMLL. And here's another interesting tidbit about Tama...he's the son of former WWE superstar Haku (aka King Tonga). Thanks for bringing Tama to our attention, Latinorazzler.

Tama is also a competitive bodybuilder in Mexico.
