A Beast And A Brute

Longtime contributor and good friend of this blog has another treat for us. David emailed me a set of photos he took over the weekend from a couple of events he recently attended. First up is big, brawny Dan Matha in a Feb. 23rd NXT match against Adam Cole (winner). David says Matha wrestled in beastmode that night and looking at these pics, I would agree with him.

Now we go from a beast to a brute. David also attended a BG East charity fund-raiser in Fort Lauderdale last Friday and one of the featured matches was between independent wrestlers Brute Baynard (better known to indie wrestling fans as Drew Donovan) and Lane Hartley (better known to indie wrestling fans as Alex Chamberlain aka Alex Koslov). Muscle Monday : Wrestlers of Freak Fighters Wrestling

Today, we travel to India to look in on a local wrestling promotion called Freak Fighter Wrestling (FFW). FFW was established in 2010 and had in its initial roster, a bevy of Indian bodybuilders, actors/models, and athletes. In 2012, they put out a promotional video of their wrestlers being interviewed (in the local language) and working out at the gym. The screenshots below are from said video which you can watch in full here. Some of the wrestlers in the video don't seem to be in the company's current roster anymore, but some have remained while several others have been added (like M.P. aka Mayank Pawar).
