Born in Mexico, Victor Manuel Resendez Ruiz is better known in the world of "lucha" as Latin Lover. He made his debut in professional wrestling in 1992 and held several championship titles throughout that decade. In 2005, Latin Lover and his partner Mariana Isrrade won the first "Bailando por un Sueno" dance tournament on Mexican television and the 6 ft. 1 in., 220 pound luchador instantly garnered mainstream recognition; this lead to several acting gigs on Mexican telenovelas and on stage as a member of the "Solo Para Las Mujeres (For Women Only)" dance group, a kind of Mexican Chippendales. He returned to pro wrestling in 2008 and currently wrestles under the name Lover.
