A good friend of this blog who is also a longtime contributor, Jim from Chicago, emailed me a set of photos of one of my favorite independent wrestlers, Vic Capri. Jim says that "last September 19th, a bar in Chicago held an outdoor show and the main match was a Chicago Street Fight featuring Vic Capri against Hardcore Craig. The match included thumb tacks, tables, and a chair wrapped in barbed wire. Vic won the match which toward the end got way too bloody for my taste." I'm not a fan of hardcore matches like this, so I'm not going to include the more graphic pics which I saw online. Thanks so much for these great pics of Vic, Jim. Can't wait to see what's next!
For those of us who DO like hunks like Vic in hardcore matches, how about at least a link?
ReplyDeleteIMHO, such matches are neither wrestling or entertainment. No matter how much I am interested in the participants, I NEVER watch them. When I see such extraneous objects appear in any match, I stop watching immediately. I've been at a couple of local live cards where they have been used. Much of the crowd is yelling something like "That is awesome!" while I'm yelling, "That's not wrestling!" at the top of my lungs. Of course, everyone ignores me. I know it's fantasy, but it is disturbing the level of excessive violence fans will accept. Worse, they bring even very young children to watch it. Not right!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Jim!! The world can never have enough of Vic Capri pics. I too am not really a fan of blood, but I'm curious what other pics of Capri are out there. Is there a link to these other pics?
ReplyDeleteEli, have you done a Google image search on "Vic Cepri"? There are a gazillion photos out there.
DeleteYes I most definitely have, thanks for the suggestion though. But I bet there are more pics out there as suggested above (though apparently they contain blood). Finding constant current grade A pics these days seems to entail finding photographers who post them in various places.
DeleteVic is one of my favorites too. He gets older, but (except for the additional tattoos) he just gets better.
ReplyDeleteAgree Almatolmen. Someone please disabuse me of this "fact" if it is incorrect, but according to what I have read and seen, the blood is actually real, coming from cuts made by concealed razor blades. IMO, the wrestlers give enough of themselves for poor compensation. I hate the thought of it.
ReplyDeleteThe blood is real. And I hate the thought of skilled, professionally trained wrestlers juicing themselves. Leave the hardcore stuff to those who can't wrestle.
DeleteI agree that Vic needs to stop covering his sexy muscles with ink as everything else about him is perfect.
ReplyDeleteI'm also in general not a fan of blood. I personally think though that outside props can add an element of unpredictability and excitement to the match if done right. I think I've seen Vic get piledriven onto a chair and it was one of the hottest things I've seen.
