He started out at the age of 16 wrestling as PJ Black in his native South Africa, moved to The United Kingdom for five years where he trained with Frontier Wrestling Alliance and wrestled for IPW:UK, then moved back to South Africa where he won the World Wrestling Professional's World Cruiserweight Championship title in 2007. PJ Black (real name Peter Paul Lloyd) was brought to our attention when WWE renamed him Justin Angel and signed him up in 2008 to be part of their development territory Florida Championship Wrestling (now called NXT). In 2010, FCW became NXT and Justin Angel was renamed Justin Gabriel. Gabriel joined RAW that same year as a heel with a group of NXT rookies called The Nexus (Wade Barrett, David Otunga, Darren Young, et. al.). Gabriel made his first post-WWE appearance in 2015 for Pro Wrestling Syndicate and has since gone on to appear in the roster of other independent companies like Global Force Wrestling, Evolve, Lucha Underground, and most recently, NWA where he sports a biker look. Here are pics of PJ/Justin from his days as a wrestler and model in South Africa to his stint with FCW/NXT/WWE to his current incarnation with NWA.

Did FCW really make him wrestle in that? |
One of the best looking. most athletic wrestlers ever to come along. His model-looks won everyone over to his high flying style. I only wish WWE gave him more opportunities to advance. You can't help but loving watching him.
ReplyDeleteSo far as what the fcw had him wrestle in, I really don't have a problem with it.
ReplyDeleteHis trunks in the first photo ain’t too shabby either.
DeleteCouldn't agree more!
DeleteOne of the hottest hunks in pro wrestling, and he knows he's got it too!
