Wrestling In The Shadows

I love black-and-white photography for its drama and moody quality. In photos like the ones below, the darkness creates a sense of limbo and keeps the eye focused on the principal subjects, i.e. the wrestlers in action. These images by Jeff Shipman featuring Hayden Young (with the tribal tattoo on his shoulder) and an unidentified opponent were taken Sept. 9, 2009 for a Platinum Championship Wrestling event.
