Whatever Happened To Lupe Santiago?

Back in 2010, I was very excited to feature a young wrestler named Lupe Santiago here on Beefcakes of Wrestling. I had hoped Lupe would go on to bigger and better things in pro wrestling (he was signed to NXT), and I looked forward to following his career online. Alas, his time in the squared circle was short-lived and Lupe decided to pursue other interests, fitness-modelling being one of them. (Here are some of my favorite images of Lupe from posts dating back to 2010-2011.)

Fast forward to 2017-2018. What is the former NXT rookie up to these days? Is there a chance he might ever return to the ring? Most likely not. On his Facebook page (which hasn't been updated since late 2016), Lupe lists several occupations and interests: "Online entrepreneur. Internet Personality. Tips To Make More Money and Live A Great Life." At one time, he was also a performer at The Adonis Lounge, an underwear model, and he did a nude photo shoot for Paragon Men in 2013 (some of the photos turned up on Pinterest). He's still doing the motivational speaker thing; if you're looking to be an entrepreneur like Lupe, you may want to follow him on Twitter. Finally, a sharp-eyed reader of this blog sent me a link to a page on Masseurfinder.com that features a "m4m masseur" named Raphael who looks remarkably like Lupe. In fact, one of the pics he included in his profile is the same one above where Lupe is modelling a tight white tank top and black hat. Is it him? Or is it just some one who looks like him? Or maybe it's a different man who is using his pics without permission. If anyone knows for sure, do let us know in the Comments section below.

Lupe's motivational video posted on YouTube last April 2017.

Throwback Thursday : Lupe Santiago

These images were supposed to have been featured in last month's Five Years Ago This Month post since they were all originally posted here on August 2010, but I didn't have the chance to do so then so I'm doing it now. Here's Lupe Santiago, a wrestler who had a relatively brief career in the squared circle because he decided to become a fitness model instead (no one said you couldn't do both, Lupe).   Thanks to my friend Jim for photos 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6.

So yeah, it's Summer. Time to hit the beach (or the pool). If you're lucky, you might come across one of these guys.
