Zero Hour

Here are Ken Doane (formerly WWE's Kenny Dysktra) and Luke Robinson in a match for Xtreme Wrestling Alliance's Zero Hour show held on Dec. 10, 2011 in Rhode Island. This looks like it was an exciting, hard-fought match, however, I don't think it would have hurt if both these guys wore something a little more revealing in the ring. Can I get an amen?

Robinson wins!

Caption This!

One of this humble blog's regular (and awesome) contributors David emailed me photos of Dolph Ziggler -- sporting a black-eye -- making an appearance at a NXT show in Florida. This photo really stood out...

So, fellow Beefcake aficionados, it's time to put on our thinking caps once again and come up with a caption for the pic above. Here are the other pics David took of Dolph (real name: Nick Nemeth) that day. Feel free to come up with other captions for these pics if you like. And thanks again for these great shots, David!
Dolph's opponent here is his real-life brother, Ryan Nemeth.

The Grumpy Cat of Wrestling

Is Canadian indie wrestler Marcus Marquez the Grumpy Cat of pro wrestling? What, you haven't heard of feline internet sensation Grumpy Cat? This pouting cat has been featured in dozens of memes and TV talk shows. Check out Grumpy Cat on Tumblr here and here. Anyway, back to Marcus Marquez. This blog's hardworking contributor Jim from Chicago snapped these shots of Marquez back in August 2012. Jim says, "Back in the hot month of August 2012 on the 24th I happened to be in Windsor Ontario Canada taking in a Can-Am Rising show.  Marcus Marquez and Josh Alexander took on Brent B and Vega in a tag match.  Marcus is a pouter as you can tell by several of the shots.  He and Josh ended up losing the match after a pretty good battle."  He's a pouter indeed! Thanks for the pics, Jim! Can't wait to see your next contribution.

And this is Grumpy Cat.

A Humble and Loyal Valet

How many male valets in pro wrestling can you name? I always thought valets had to be female because their role in pro wrestling was to be the eye candy that the (presumably) heterosexual male fans could gaze upon (and maybe even fantasize about). But here comes Eric St. Vaughn who describes himself as "a humble and loyal valet to the male model Ashley Vuitton." Like Vuitton, Chicago-based Eric is affiliated with Resistance Pro Wrestling, Billy Corgan's wrestling company. I don't think he's actually wrestled yet, but I think his ultimate goal is to be on the roster of Resistance Pro and see action with its other stars. Maybe one day we'll get to see him make his dream come true.

The valet and his master.

St. Vaughn has also competed in bodybuilding contests.
