Muscle Monday : Chris Dickinson

Wait. What??? Whoa! When did Chris Dickinson muscle up and get so shredded? His transformation is amazing. Anyway, it seems that he's calling himself Dirty Dickinson now. I'm sure Dickinson's fans  will love the new look.

Those tree trunk leg muscles on the right belong to Dickinson.

Vintage Classic

If you're a fan of the old-timey, vintage classic wrestling matches of the 1950s-1960s, you may enjoy this televised bout from 1961. It features a wrestler with a muscular physique that's more the norm in wrestling today than it was fifty years ago (most wrestlers back then had thick, stocky builds; think Bruno Sammartino or  Cowboy Bob Ellis). I can't speak French so I don't know if this wrestler's name is Rouxel, but the commentator mentions it a lot so I'm assuming that's who he is. (UPDATE: A friend of mine wrote to tell me that the muscular wrestler in white is Mr. Montreal, a Canadian bodybuilder and that Rouxel is the heel in dark trunks. Thanks for the info!) Early on in the match, the heel, a much leaner guy, goes to work on the hero punishing him with kicks, stomps, and punches. This is the part I like to watch over and over again. Jumping Jack

When I saw thumbnails of these match photos, I initially thought the wrestler wearing the leopard-print trunks was British wrestler Tyler Bate, but as it turns out, he's a man called Jack Gallagher. I think this may be the first time I've seen pics of Gallagher. I guessed him to be 5 ft. 8 in. tall (I was right!) and weighing around 180-185 lbs. (he's 189 lbs.). I thought that Jimmy Preston had retired from professional wrestling a few years ago, but as it turns out, he's still pretty active in the ring. "The One Man Thrill Ride", as he likes to call himself, has been in matches for independent promotions Chaotic Wrestling and Top Rope Promotions this year. Good to know he's still in the business.
