Beefcakes Exclusive : Brad Armstrong's Last Match

Perhaps you've already heard or read about the untimely demise of the great Brad Armstrong. He may not have become a household name like Hulk Hogan or Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, but Armstrong had many fans and admirers and was well-respected by his colleagues in the business.

A reader of this blog, San J. Hunt, emailed me photos he took of Brad's last match. Here are excerpts from the email he sent me: "I had the opportunity and good fortune to see Brad in a tag match against Dr Tom Prichard this past weekend at GCW's Southern Legends Fanfest in Pell City, Al. (Both men had partnered with local wrestlers for this match.) I had always wanted to see Brad perform live,but unfortunately, I did not get there early enough for the meet and greet portion of the night because of work and the fact it was an hour and a half drive, but I did approach him after his match and shake his hand and tell him how much I enjoyed the match. I was a bit hesitant first, but I'm glad I worked up the nerve to express my appreciation. I've attached some photos I took at the event (see below)."

I turn 49 years old today and it got me to thinking about who in the world of professional wrestling is my age. One such guy is Brad Armstrong. Brad was born in 1961 and he'll be another year older in a few months' time, but for now, he's just on the verge of turning the Big Five-Oh. Brad's been in the business since 1981 and as many of you know, he's wrestled in almost every big-time company there is from NWA to WCW to WWE. Check out Brad in these photos taken not too long ago. Still fine at 49!
