Flashback Friday: Tookie Tucker

It's not very often a wrestler gets featured only once here on Beefcakes of Wrestling, but independent American wrestler Tookie Tucker has the distinction of being one of the few who has had only one dedicated post since this blog was created (a couple of his pics were reprised in other posts). I know very little about Tookie Tucker "The Wrestlin' Trucker" so I had to do a little online research. Here's his Cagematch bio page.

Which pro wrestler goes to his matches in a rig? Tookie Tucker, The Wrestlin' Trucker! 6 foot tall Tookie (real name Alex Roma) was trained by WWE legend Mr. Fuji in 1998 and wrestled in Japan and Puerto Rico till 2000. He started training in WWE's developmental school the year after, but the tragic events of 9/11 devastated this New Yorker so he hung up his wrestling boots and evaluated his options. It wasn't long after that he started his own business, All-American Trucking, a company wherein he owned and operated 10 trucks and 12 trailers. In 2006, he decided to go back to wrestling and the Tookie Tucker persona was born. I haven't come across any wrestling news or information regarding Tucker that isn't current (most of it, like the photos below, are from 2006 - 2008) so perhaps he's not as active as he used to be. Too bad because I'd like to see more of this wrestlin' trucker in the ring.
