Here's TNA Impact's Jesse Sorensen, the quintessential All-American jock (UPDATE: a blog reader left a comment on Jesse's early retirement from wrestling. Sad.)
And now here's Great Britain's Tyler Bate. Unlike other young wrestlers, Bate prefers an old school look; no shiny tights, no knee or elbow pads, no fancy ring jacket. Give this guy a few more years to bulk up and become more seasoned in the ring...then he'll be a real Beefcake of Wrestling.

Thanks for introducing me to Tyler Bate. What a sexy young stud! I would add Joe Pittman and Quinton Hitchcock to the list of young indy wrestlers who pull off the all-American jock gimmick very well.
ReplyDeleteJust wondering if you'll post anything here about yesterday's Darren Young's coming out...
ReplyDeleteJoe, the cool guy who maintains the Ringside At Skull Island blog, wrote about Darren coming out. You can read about it here: http://ringsideatskullisland.blogspot.com/2013/08/darren-young-first-openly-gay-wrestler.html
DeleteThanks :)
DeleteSorenson can't wrestle anymore, he broke his neck.
ReplyDeleteAwww, that's too bad. Thanks for letting me know.
DeleteJesse is was on hiatus while he was recovering. He wanted to resume wrestling for TNA, but they fired him. Their doctors would not clear him to wrestle, but Jesse says his own doctors say it is OK. He recently returned to the ring...I saw him in action a couple of weekends ago.
DeleteWait for it: according to Wikipedia, on March 18th, 2013, Jesse was on the TNA Youtube show The List, hosted by Robbie E & So Cal Val, speaking of return questions. On May 20, 2013, a fan asked him when he'll come back, but Sorensen said that there will not be a come back, but there will be a new beginning. On June 5 2013, Sorensen's profile was removed from the TNA roster page. On July 23rd 2013, Sorensen announced that he had been released from TNA. After his release, fans responsd negatively due to TNA President Dixie Carter previously stating that he would always have a job after his neck injury. TNA claimed that Jesse received a lot of money and he didn't want to learn a new job inside the company, because he wanted to wrestle. On July 27 2013 Sorensen returned to FUW, where he and & Nick Fame defeated Angel Santos and MDK when Jesse pinned Santos with a Billy Gunn Slam
DeleteI know TNA dropped Jesse, but has he retired from wrestling altogether?
DeleteShame if has, I thought he might be the new Randy Orton - a similar sexy young look like when Orton started
It's ironic that wrestling is more dangerous for the performers now that everyone is sure that it's "fake" than it was back when everyone thought it was real.
ReplyDeleteGood point!
DeleteYeah, Sorensen is back, this time in Florida, and he's lookin' as hot as ever. With his looks and widow's peak, I kinda thought of him as Eddie Munster's hotter-than-hot secret twin.
ReplyDeleteJesse is looking for more bookings around the country, so there is a chance he will be traveling a little more outside Florida and his home state of Texas.
