You've probably never heard of Tom Magee, the Canadian bodybuilder and mixed martial arts fighter whom World Wrestling Federation (now WWE)'s Vince McMahon wanted to build up as the successor to Hulk Hogan in the mid-1980s. Despite being hyped as WWE's "next big thing," things didn't quite work out for the impressively-built Magee; while getting his feet wet in smaller shows across the USA, management was unhappy with how sloppy his matches were and, according to some critics, how he lacked charisma in the ring.
