A Very Brady Wednesday

I was going to include Brady Malibu in last week's "New Faces" posts, but he looked familiar to me. I scrolled down this blog's Labels column to look for his name. Nope. No Brady Malibu. But hold on, there's a Brady Roberts. Turns out Brady Malibu is Brady Roberts. Brady isn't just a professional wrestler, he's also a personal trainer and an actor (click here to see his IMDB page). According to Cagematch.net, Brady is 29 years old, weighs 176 pounds, and is 5'9" tall. Some of you may think he has a rather average build, but not all wrestlers have to be over 6 feet, 300 pounds. Cagematch also says he's been wrestling for 13 years now, which means he was only 16 when he first started.  If you want to see more of him, subscribe to his YouTube Channel. You'll see his pro wrestling demo reel wherein he says (with tongue in cheek) "my fans are mostly women and gay men."

Brady and Scotty

One of this blog's followers, R.H., e-mailed me with a heads up on a little-known but hot indie wrestler named Scotty Putty. While doing some research on Scotty, I came across a trailer for a film he and another indie wrestler, Brady Roberts, starred in. Called "Flex On The Beach," the film is "...a mockumentary about small time independent pro wrestlers Scotty Putty and Brady Roberts, collectively known as the tag team Flex on the Beach. Even though they are often called the worst tag team of all time, Putty and Brady are convinced they are going to sign a contract with a major pro wrestling company. In the meantime, they are working regular jobs at the gym and the comic book shop to pay the bills- but when those fall apart, what do two pro wrestlers with no other skills do? Watch as the boys hilariously battle against the egos of the independent wrestling scene, the pressures to get signed to a major deal, and the characters and women along the way."* You can view the trailer here.
