Flashback: Conrad Tanner

Longtime readers of BCoW may remember former Florida Championship Wrestling’s (WWE's developmental territory now called NXT) Conrad Tanner. The 6'5" (198cm) former professional football player, real name Kyle Rasmussen, had a short stint in FCW (from 2009 to 2010). After his foray into pro wrestling, Rasmussen became a fitness model and actor in TV commercials. He's a certified training and nutritional specialist with his own private fitness practice. Flashback Friday: Conrad Tanner aka Kyle Rasmussen

Too bad Kyle Rasmussen, renamed Conrad Tanner, was with WWE's developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling for only one year (2009-2010). I would have liked to see more matches of this 6'5', 305-pound former football player had he continued as a wrestler. Now 37 years old, Rasmussen is a successful personal trainer/entrepreneur.

Throwback Thursday : Conrad Tanner

This edition of Throwback Thursday comes to us from a good friend of this blog and one of its regular contributors, Jim from Chicago. Back in 2010, Jim took these photos of Tanner in a match against Wade Barrett. This FCW bout was held in Fort Myers. Jim says that after Wade had Tanner strapped across his shoulders," he tossed him backwards onto the mat, then pinned him." Thanks for these amazing pics, Jim! Conrad Tanner Up Close

One of this blog's regular contributors, Jim from Chicago, had the enviable opportunity to witness an FCW lumberjack match in Florida last month. Jim says that while he was taking photographs of the match, a huge, blue-eyed giant kept getting in his camera's way. That giant turned to be Conrad Tanner (aka former football player Kyle Rasmussen) who was featured here on Beefcakes of Wrestling recently. Great shots, Jim!
