Following In Their Father's Footsteps

Father's Day is just around the corner (June 15, Sunday, in case you didn't know) so who better to feature than third generation wrestlers Ross and Marshall Von Erich, sons of Kevin Von Erich of the legendary Von Erich wrestling family. The big news is that Ross and Marshall are set to make their first globally televised match this Sunday, Father's Day, at TNA's Slammiversary PPV event. Read all about it here. 

The two Von Erich boys will be joined by dad Kevin who will introduce them to a national audience. Dallas News has an article about it which you can read here.

Ross and Marshall's First Match

It finally happened. Kevin Von Erich's boys, Ross and Marshall, had their first ever professional match (singles and tag team competition) on American soil last weekend for the WLW federation in Missouri. The brothers faced WLW Champion Jason Jones and MWR Future Star recipient Brian Breaker while dad Kevin watched from ringside. Read how it all went down here. See more match photos here.

One of this blog's readers generously shared these pictures she found online of brothers Ross and Marshall Von Erich, offspring of the legendary Kevin Von Erich. Both boys are currently in Japan wrestling and training with the Pro NOAH organization. Ross is certainly one to keep an eye on. The younger Marshall (6 ft. 4 in., 240 pounds and only 19 years old) isn't too shabby either. Papa Kevin must be so proud.

Blog reader Sanjhunt emailed me with news of a new breed of Von Erich wrestlers. Ross and Marshall, the sons of wrestling icon Kevin Von Erich, moved to Japan early this year to train and wrestle with NOAH, a major pro wrestling promotion in that country. Ross and Marshall are third generation wrestlers (grandfather Fritz was a legendary heel in the 50s-60s and uncles Kerry, Chris, Mike and David were all pro wrestlers, too). According to T.U.P. Wrestling Forum, Ross has fooled around with wrestling for a couple of years.  Rumor was that Kevin wanted him to go to college first.  And since Kevin and his mother own the trademark on the Von Erich name, Ross had to appease the old man first.  Now that younger brother Marshall wants in, it looks like Kevin has come around." I haven't come across any pics or videos of the Von Erich brothers in a match yet. Perhaps we'll see them in the squared circle very soon. In the meantime, here are a few pics I found on the internet. The pics of older brother Ross (the one to watch) are from his MySpace page.
