Five Years Ago This Month (Part 1)

Who was rocking Beefcakes of Wrestling's world in June 2010? Here are some of the wrestlers who were featured in this blog five years ago this month. First up, one of my personal favorites, Mark Jindrak (now wrestling in Mexico as Marco Corleone).

Here's another one of my favorites - Alex Riley.

Also featured here five years ago was independent wrestle David Flex.

Another indie wrestler featured here was Eric "The Underwear Model" Priest.

And last, but never least, is yet another indie wrestler - Truitt Fields.

Whatever Happened To....

When I started Beefcakes of Wrestling in 2010, I featured several independent wrestlers who looked like they would have long and promising careers. But things happen and now these wrestlers seem to have dropped off the radar. Here are a few who were featured on this blog from 2010 to 2011. AAW's Eric Priest Tribute

In July 2008, "The Underwear Model" Eric Priest retired from professional wrestling and a special tribute video was played before his very last match with AAW. The screencaps below are from the tribute video which you can watch here.

Jim "Shoots" A-1

Back in 2006, regular contributor to this blog Jim from Chicago attended a TNA wrestling event in Steamwood, Illinois that featured a tag team match between Eric Priest and Chandler McClure against Tyson Dux and this thick, beefy muscleman, A-1 (sometimes spelled A1). Born Alastair Charles Ralphs in Canada in 1977, A1 is a former bodybuilder turned professional wrestler who retired in 2007, but returned to pro wrestling in 2008 as part of a small independent promotion in Ontario called Universal Wrestling Alliance. Thanks for the photos, Jim!

Dux covers A-1's ears as the crowd taunts him with chants of "A1 Steak Sauce!"

Eric Priest

I remember years ago seeing pictures online of some guy who called himself "The Underwear Model" Eric Priest. It seemed like such an arrogant if hilarious name to go by and Eric (real name Michael Boehne) eventually went on to use other colorful monikers such as "The Pimp of the Midwest", "The Epitome of Masculinity," and "The Gold Standard of Professional Wrestling." Citing a bad knee, Eric retired from pro wrestling in 2008. Here are some pictures from different stages of his career.
