Whatever Happened To....

When I started Beefcakes of Wrestling in 2010, I featured several independent wrestlers who looked like they would have long and promising careers. But things happen and now these wrestlers seem to have dropped off the radar. Here are a few who were featured on this blog from 2010 to 2011. Beefcakes Identified

Last week, this image was featured in a Beefcakes in Action post and some people wanted to know who the wrestlers in this photo are.

Good news! One of this blog's resourceful readers emailed me with the answers. Chris writes: "I figured out who that is in the picture from the PWA.  I believe it's from a 2007 match between The South African Connection (Ananzi and Jason Steele) and The Trump Twins comprised of Max-a-Million (pictured outside of ropes) and Richy Rich (Brett Idol/Brett Barnes)."

Chris also pointed me towards a video on YouTube which features highlights of this match. Poor Brett Idol (wrestling as Richy Rich) gets a pretty bad beating from his opponents in this bout. You can watch it here.

Jason Steele was featured here last week. I'll post something on his tag team partner Ananzi in the next couple of days. As for Max-A-Million, I haven't been able to find anything on him. Has anyone heard about this guy?

A couple of years ago, I came across this photo on a wrestling website.

I wondered, "who is this well-built guy in the tight black briefs? Is he wrestling in India? Do they even have pro-wrestling in India?" (The answer to that last question is yes.) About a couple of years ago, I found out who he is his...Jason Steele. Born Jason McGinn in Aberdeen, Scotland, Jason made his pro wrestling debut in 2005 after a couple of years competing in the South African strongman circuit. He came to America 5 years ago and wrestled for World Wrestling Professionals (WWP) as Jason The Terror. A couple of years ago he started appearing on a wrestling/entertainment show in India. While there, he also trained many Indian pro wrestlers for the WWP tryouts in Bombay. Jason is 6 ft. tall and recently turned 31 years old.

Watch Jason in a match that aired on Indian television here and here. And Jason goes up against fan favorite P.J. Black (now better known as WWE's Justin Gabriel) here (the video quality is bad, but Jason and P.J./Justin are hot in this match).
