Flashback Friday: Hugo Knox

Longtime contributor and good friend of this blog, David, emailed me this collection of photos he took of one-time NXT Superstar Hugo Knox. Knox, an English former football/soccer player, made his debut with NXT in November 2014. For reasons unknown to us, he was released by WWE in September 2016. David's pics were taken when Knox was still new to NXT; his first ring gear was comprised of these white polka-dotted trunks and knee pads in blue or red. I'm baffled as to why WWE's Creatives decided on this look for him. In my opinion, it doesn't suit his personality and build. His later look of the slick black gear was much better. Thank you to David for once again gifting us with a spectacular batch of photos.

Hola Ariel Levy

This is Ariel Levy's first feature on Beefcakes of Wrestling. 35-year-old Levy is from Santiago, Chile. He first made a name for himself in his native country as an actor and singer. He made his debut as a film actor in 2004 and his television debut in 2005. He's since acted in more than 20 films including the 2014 international horror film The Green Inferno (directed by Eli Roth); his most recent film appearance was in 2019. His TV credits include many Chilean series and mini-series. Levy made his lucha libre debut with the country's biggest promotion "National Wrestling Championship" in 2015 and has since wrestled for almost every promotion in Chile. Most recently, he was one of 45 Latin American wrestlers who was invited to try out for WWE. Levy was unable to complete the tryout because of an injury, but he resumed his tryout in Florida last December.
