Old School Beefcake: Rude vs Thompson

Let's travel back in time to the (I'm guessing) mid-1980s when wrestlers Rick Rude and Firebreaker Chip (aka Curtis Thompson) were two of the many beefcake wrestlers on the roster of World Championship Wrestling (WCW). Content creator Sean Pford posted their singles match on YouTube and you can watch it here.

Old School Beefcake: Todd Champion

Another mid-80s-to-1990s wrestler who slipped under my radar back then is Todd Champion. Champion began his in-ring career with National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) in 1986, had a brief stint with World Wrestling Federation (now WWE), and then wrestled for various independent promotions in the 1990s. Read more about him here. Watch him in this 1991 WCW match against a young-ish Steve Austin. Champion was also in a WCW tag team called The Patriots with Chip "The Firebreaker" (aka Curtis Thompson); watch one of their matches here

Flashback

I added a couple of "favorite" matches to the Beefcakes of Wrestling channel on YouTube. First off is Curtis Thompson vs. Lex-Luger-wannabe Steven Dane from, I don't know, the early 1990s perhaps.

There's another older match featuring this guy, Calvin Knapp, going up against Alex Porteau.

If you haven't done it yet, you might want to subscribe to the B.O.W. channel and check out all the other stuff that's in there. Oh, and thanks to this blog's 200th member for joining us here on Beefcakes...I hope all of you are enjoying the site!

Beefcakes Of Wrestling's YouTube Channel

Okay, why didn't I think of this before? A YouTube channel with all my favorite beefcake wrestling videos. It's free, it's easy to maintain, and you don't have to be a genius to add videos from the seemingly infinite pool of wrestling content that's already on YouTube . Actually, a friend of mine came up with the idea -- thanks, Mortner! -- and although I initially resisted, I gave it a little more thought and said to myself, "well, why not?" So the first wrestling video is up on the channel and it's one of my all-time favorites from the late 1980s/early 1990s I'm guessing. It may be considered boring by today's WWE standards, but I like the give-and-take between the two hot 'n beefy musclemen -- Curtis Thompson and Bob Emory -- and the fact that there are no ridiculous gimmicks in this match. Click here and enjoy!

Chip Ahoy

Remember Curtis Thompson, that thick musclestud who also went by the name Chip The Firebreaker? I'd hate to call him a jobber, but I don't recall seeing him many matches back in the day. Still, the man was hot!

Flashback - Al Perez vs Curtis Armstrong

I'm not sure when this match up between beefcakes Al Perez and Curtis Thompson took place -- it could be the late 1980s or early 1990s -- but it's still as hot now as it was back then. "A thing of beauty in the ring," is how the on-air commentator describes Perez. Love the black trunks and white boots on both these hunks. Watch the action here.
