Finn Who?

Prince Devitt made his debut on NXT yesterday and what name does WWE give him? Finn Balor. Yes, Finn Balor. Here are some images from Prince Devitt, I mean, Finn Balor's first NXT match (Finn's tag team partner is Japanese wrestler Kenta, now called Hideo Itami). There was a video of this match posted by a fan on YouTube, but WWE quickly shut it down. Read more about what transpired here. So anyway, more about the name Finn Balor. 411 Mania reports that "this isn't necessarily a point at random dictionary word situation. Balor is a figure in Celtic mythology, the king of the Fomorians and a god of blight. The name is likely an homage of sorts to Devitt's Irish nationality." What do you think of the name Finn Balor?

Flashback Friday : Morrison vs Dutt

A couple of weeks ago, I posted photos of a Continental Wrestling Federation (CWF) ladder match between former WWE Superstar John Morrison and former TNA wrestler Sonjay Dutt. Here's another match between Morrison and Dutt, only this time, from the year 2012. Morrison lost the more recent ladder match to Dutt, but he won and became CWF champion in this one.

One Good, One Bad

My good friend David has done it again. He emailed me these amazing photos he took of Jason Jordan and Ty Dillinger (formerly known as Shawn Spears) at a NXT event he recently attended. David writes, "NXT has split up the tag team of Jason Jordan/Ty Dillinger. One of them is now a good guy, the other bad. Both won their recent matches, although Jason did a lot more suffering on his way to victory." (Jordan's opponent here is Dash Wilder formerly known as Steven Walters.) David didn't say who's good and who's bad, but you can tell just by looking at his photos. Thanks for the pics, David! Can't wait to see what you'll have for us next time.
