A Good Old-Fashioned Dog-Collar Match

I remember seeing photos of dog-collar matches in magazines like Pro Wrestling Illustrated back in the 1970s-1980s. Those matches looked so brutal and savage; one or both of the wrestlers involved would usually end up bloodied by the middle of the bout. Keeping the tradition alive (sans the blood) are two big independent wrestlers -- Kevin Matthews and Arkim. In this March 22 match for Pro Wrestling Syndicate, both men battle in and out of the ring. Going Commando

I wasn't able to identify Chris "The Shark" Andrews' opponent in this recent post, but thanks to several blog readers, I now know who the camouflage-wearing beefcake in those photos is. He goes by the name Paul Ryker aka The Commando. Ryker is from Victoria, British Colombia, but now wrestles in the UK. Before turning pro, Ryker was in The British Army and served in Iraq. Watch out for more pics of The Commando coming very soon!
