I always thought Blackman had an incredibly sexy look and attitude, although he could have used some more charisma. The last, more recent photo of him suggests he still has the hot.

It wasn't just you. I remember WWE had a whole storyline in which they were trying to loosen him up.
ReplyDeleteI just read his Wikip-bio because I was curious whether he had been in MMA before pro wrestling. Apparently not, but I did learn that he contracted malaria and dysentery while pro wrestling in South Africa in 1989, and it left him bedridden for two years, and then it was another four to regain his physique so he could audition for WWE, where he debuted in 1997. Anon.

ReplyDeleteLOVE Steve Blackman (have some of his matches up on Sean Pford YouTube but this isn't about that). I never minded the "lack of charisma" thing, in fact, I thought that kind of WAS his charisma, a no-nonsense hard-ass.
