Lex Appeal

Ahhh, Lex Luger. When he was in his prime, he was one of the hottest musclemen in pro wrestling. Check him out in this tag team match circa the 1980s.

Domination's The Name Of The Game

One of the most riveting sights in pro wrestling is when one wrestler, usually the aggressor, dominates his opponent. Here are some examples.
Can anyone identify the man on top?

Blake Warning

Buff Bagwell (aka Marcus Bagwell)

Can anyone ID the wrestler being dominated here?

Solid Steele

A couple of years ago, I came across this photo on a wrestling website.

I wondered, "who is this well-built guy in the tight black briefs? Is he wrestling in India? Do they even have pro-wrestling in India?" (The answer to that last question is yes.) About a couple of years ago, I found out who he is his...Jason Steele. Born Jason McGinn in Aberdeen, Scotland, Jason made his pro wrestling debut in 2005 after a couple of years competing in the South African strongman circuit. He came to America 5 years ago and wrestled for World Wrestling Professionals (WWP) as Jason The Terror. A couple of years ago he started appearing on a wrestling/entertainment show in India. While there, he also trained many Indian pro wrestlers for the WWP tryouts in Bombay. Jason is 6 ft. tall and recently turned 31 years old.

Watch Jason in a match that aired on Indian television here and here. And Jason goes up against fan favorite P.J. Black (now better known as WWE's Justin Gabriel) here (the video quality is bad, but Jason and P.J./Justin are hot in this match).

Recognize This Fella?

Do you recognize who this youngster with dreams of becoming a pro wrestler is? He was one of pro wrestling's best-looking men in the 1990s.

The good-looking kid in the pics above is WCW star Marcus Alexander Bagwell. Bagwell made his pro wrestling debut wearing a mask and calling himself The Handsome Stranger. Much later on, he reinvented himself as a heel called Buff Bagwell. My favorite Bagwell period as when he and Scotty Riggs teamed up as The American Males. They feuded bitterly after the team up broke up, but whether they were together or apart, they were hot to watch!

Beefcake Names Needed

This image from yesterday's Beefcakes in Action post has several readers wondering who the wrestlers in this shot, particularly the tag team in white, are. The blonde being hoisted over the shoulders of the muscular bald guy seems to be Brett Idol (aka Brett Barnes), but I'm only about 95% sure of that. I haven't been able to identify his tag team partner or their opponent.  This appears to be a Pro Wrestling Alliance event; that's their logo in the background. I checked PWA's roster, but couldn't find any info on the other two guys. Can anyone please help?

Arya's Magic Carpet Ride

Regular contributor Jim from Chicago emailed me a set of photos he took of Arya Daivari (Shawn's kid brother). Jim says: "Here are some shots I got of Arya Daivari in a match against Derek St. Holmes back in November of 2007.  The show was put on by both AWA (American Wrestling Association) and BCW (Brew City Wrestling) in Waukesha, Wisconsin.  Arya won the match with a pin called the magic carpet ride." Thanks for the awesome pics, Jim! Keep 'em coming!
