Sexy Kev's New Look

In the last Sexy Kev post, someone left a comment saying that he didn't think Kev's pink ring gear looked good. Well, guess what? The British wrestler has switched from pink-and-silver square-cuts to this black cop get-up. Do you think it's an improvement?

  1. Don't think there will be anyone arguing he's not good looking or that it's not an improvement

  3. Jeez, I'm writing like a fashion expert!

The combo of his boots and knee brace is too high. When taken with something about those trunks, they make him look "blocky". Not a good thing. Whatever you thing of his previous gear, I don't recall thinking "blocky."

The cop thing? I have mixed feelings, but I think he needs to do a serious think about something that makes him stand out more individually.

I don't know enough about his. Ring persona to come out with suggested alternatives. Anyone?

    1. Very interesting and astute observation. These pics seem to have worse lighting and he doesn't seem as "ripped" so that's my guess. But maybe he gained a bit of weight. I'm curious when he took on these two personas and when these pics were taken.

Oh, I just reread that and I think the "blocky" thing refers to his boots and pads more. Yeah I see that now and agree, though actually in the previous post you don't see his boots, so you can't tell they're so blocky (except some knee pads which actually *are* kinda big)

    2. We actually pics of him in his bright color gear right here on this site! (go bruno!) Seems he's always liked armoring his legs:

His ring persona from the couple matches I see is him being narcissist but nationalistic (face). He eats up the crowd chanting his name and hence the "Sexy." He shows off in the ring not unlike guys in the past like Mr. Ass and Val Venis, gyrating his hips

  4. Agree with Eli.
I believe he actually was working as a stripper before wrestling, so he isn't "really" supposed to be a cop, as much as he is a wrestler portraying a stripper pretending to be a cop.

    1. Well, that's a story that doesn't surprise me. I'm sure he can pull it off really well and it would definitely make my day if someone sent me Sexy Kev to strip for me!
I mentioned this before, but the only thing that bothers me is I watched some of his matches and the people screaming "Sexy Kev" are little kids

    2. Eli, thanks for your comments. I did see the stripper>cop connection.

While you see some of that sort of thing in small venue US matches, such kids seem to be quite common in the UK. Often when I watch YouTube matches from that side of the Pond, I have to mute the sound. Many times it's because, as in most sports, the commentators are inane. But usually it's because of the irritatingly high voices shouting inappropriate things.

    3. Just looking on Cagematch.

I'd like to see his matches vs. T-Bone 4, Ws-2Ls, (Babyfaced) Pitbull, and Martin Kirby.

    4. I am not suprised at the latter. There seem to be a lot of wrestling shows in the UK that cater to children, or at least family audiences, e.g., at the Butlin's resorts. (Search Youtube with "wrestling" and "Butlins." Top UK talent appears there) How a stripper fits into that, don't ask me.
Sometimes the kids are equipped with foam-rubber "boppers" and function as "lumberjacks."

  5. That's a bummer I usually like the sound on as it adds to the excitement
