Who Is Mikey?
I'm going to try something different on Beefcakes of Wrestling today and I'd like you, gentle reader, to tell me what you think about it. In the past, I've featured wrestlers with physiques ranging from bodybuilder to muscular to athletic/lean. I think this is the first time I'm featuring what is referred to as a "bear" (hairy, thick, beefy). The thing is I don't even know what name this bear wrestles under. I came across his pics on Instagram and all I have is the name Mikey. His Instagram intro description is as follows: "Mikey, Professional Wrestler taking pictures of my adventures/progress in the gym. I am 6'4 285 lbs." There are a few photos of him in the ring and such, the majority of his other photos are selfies. If anyone knows anything about "Mikey," please let us know in the Comments section below. First Bruno - Thank you so much for opening up the conversation. Showcasing, occasionally, a wider variety, other than the usual stereotypes, will make your blog more interesting and appealing.
ReplyDeleteRegarding this particular guy - I've scrolled his Instagram. He strikes me as nice, gregarious. I might like him as a friend. I could see him as a popular wrestling personality.
But I'm having problems fantasizing him in a sexual way. Not because he's a bear ( I love some bears ), he's just not my type. I also notice the overwhelming majority of his photos feature his upper chest; I'm not getting a sense of his un-clothed body.
But that's just me being very subjective. I don't begrudge anyone else from having a more positive view.
This guy must be English since in pic 6 of 8 (which is fuckin Hot btw), he's wrestling Tyler Bate?
ReplyDeleteI would love to see more of Mikey and bear-type wrestlers on this blog, but I'd want to see them working over hot hapless heroes (like Tyler Bate, who looks like he's getting turned on even under those thick black jeans, getting worked over like that). He's in the same category as Samoa Joe and Kevin Steen/Owens or even the Undertaker in that sense for me.

DeleteI believe he's American. In one of his Instagram photos, you can see a ring with the logo of Full Impact Pro, an independent promotion based in Florida.
DeleteInteresting, and I appreciate the variety, too, although his match videos are not download-worthy for me, just based on his participation.
ReplyDeleteThat said, six-pack abs are not a requirement for me, so I can appreciate his bearish qualities. The hair and beard, however, are a total turn-off, as they would be even if he had a body like Tony Nese, et al. Anon.

Admittedly, I'm not a bears fan, but I know some are, and their preferences are just as worthy as those who (like me) prefer tone and shape (think Tony Nese, Ethan Carter) and those who like thin and athletic (think Matt Sydal). Go for it!

ReplyDeleteI think he'should from Florida from exploring his other Instagram posts, and also openly gay. He does the #bear a lot, and has a pic of him at a gay event after the Orlando shootings. It's very refreshing to see an openly gay non-Adonis body type wrestler. That said, I think he'should insanely hot. I like a broad range of guys, but his body type is probably my ideal. Large, hairy, charismatic, powerful, imposing, and has one hell of a presence wherever he goes. I may never get to experience him first hand, but thanks to Bruno,I can now fantasize about it.
ReplyDeleteNot my type at all. Give me Jesse Godderz, Tony Nese or EC3 any day. However, I am aware of many who are attracted to the "bear" type. There is no reason why they shouldn't be catered for.

His Facebook profile says he's interested in women so even though he uses #bear and has written about the recent tragedy in Orlando, Florida doesn't necessarily mean he's out. I do think he's aware that he has gay fans and he just wants to make them happy.

ReplyDeleteIncidentally, I wonder what happened to Justice Jones. He was working over one of the regulars a couple of years ago, and I've been fascinated by him ever since.
Yes for more diversity. And yes to this guy. I'm a bear myself (pretty much by default, genetics has given me a plus-sized body and metabolism to match), and it's good to see some decent-looking bear-type wrestlers. And I could see myself dating this guy.
