Oh No! Not Again!

I hope you readers aren't getting tired of seeing Anthony Nese on this blog because I as hell ain't. Yup, it seems Nese has been pretty busy lately, and I, for one, am happy about that. Maybe he's in demand right now. I mean, when a wrestler looks the way he does and wrestles the way he does...well, you do the math. So here for the umpteenth time in the history of Beefcakes of Wrestling is Anthony Nese with his tag team partner Apollyon vs the twosome of Jon Silver and Alex Reynolds. A few words about Silver. I'm starting to like this guy. He's not the biggest, most defined wrestler out there, but you can see that he's quite a character. Anyway, more on Silver very soon. These pics are from National Pro Wrestling Day's Evening Card held in Philadelphia, PA on Feb. 2. (Photos by Scott Finklestein)

John Silver

Silver bounces back.

Silver gets knocked down like a bowling pin.

Silver goes for the pin, but doesn't make it.

The winning move.
Congratulations, Nese!

  1. As far as I'm concerned, Tony Nese is in the same category as Jessie Godderz (btw, loved the way James Storm treated his "unconscious" body on TNA Impact last week; the only thing missing was a closeup!), Vic Capri, and Jason Static... there's no such thing as "tired of seeing him."

And I don't know what I missed, but you're making me think I should have watched TNA Impact...

  2. Nese is by far, one of my favorites, altho I prefer seeing him in situations of Suffering. ( To Pretty a face to be a Heel ) ie: Pic #9.. Cornered, Silver ramming his shoulder into Nese's gut..Pic #11..Nese over the ropes, Silver landing his Leg Hard onto his back..Pic #12..Silver dragging Nese back into the ring by his arm, so he can administer more Punishment to the Hottie..Pic #16..Silver in mid air, ready to land on Nese's gut..Pic #17..Nese's face Contorted in agony from Silver's knees landing a direct shot. Ahh, Nese on the receiving end of some Punishment, always makes me happy!

  3. Never tire of seeing Nese. I agree with Jobber that I like seeing him being punished! Have seen several of his matches on line - all with hot opponents. His machismo and wrestling style get me worked up instantly.

  4. But he really makes a great heel! He's got the right attitude.

And why is it that so many like to see only the handsome ones suffer? If suffering's your kink, what difference does it make who's doing it. Are you saying that the rest can't sell it as well?

Finally, Nese is shown with a win. But I'd rather have it happen in a singles event.

  5. Like everyone else, Nese has such a great body, how could you get tired of seeing it!! The thing that frustrates me about him is that he doesn't seem to know whether he's a heel or a face. I think he makes a great heel but I wish he'd be consistent. While I'm being picky, I wish he'd trim the beard.

  6. There are any number of wrestlers, Neil, that have different personae in different promotions, not to mention different times in their careers.

I think that it works for the wrestlers and for me. The guys get to be more versatile in performance so they don't get the feeling of being in a rut. They're more than Johnny-one-notes.

I recall one wrestler who is a wonderful heroic type who for one particular match took one the role of heel. He's a great face and one who's not a jobber. But it was a revelation to see him do just as well as a villain. If you didn't know him in his usual character, you'd've thought him the consummate heel. And he looked like he enjoyed it. He hadn't "turned", he just got to play in a place where he wasn't at home.

I think that more wrestlers should do that if they don't have an overwhelmingly long-standing reputation that requires a major metamorphosis to overturn.

    1. I haven't been able to find pics of Jessie ever since he moved to TNA. There were lots of pics of him when he was in OVW. If anyone can point me to a link with TNA match pics, I'd appreciate it very much.
