Look Who's Now In NXT

Remember the Australian tag team of TMDK (The Mighty Don't Kneel)? Shane Haste and Mikey Nicholls have moved from Australia to Japan to Florida, USA and are now appearing in NXT matches. A good friend of this blog who is also one of its longtime contributors, David, emailed me these photos he took of the boys from Down Under. David says that so far, "they have followed a simple format, suffering rough abuse from larger teams like The Authors of Pain, only to pull off a win at the very end." NXT sure has an eye for talent! I can't wait to see more of Haste and Nicholls in NXT.

  1. Mikey Nicholls appeared in some U.S. indies years ago (sans Shane Haste) before his Japan move. Here's a match with him donning Aussie trunks:

There's something so hot about a wrestler defending the pride of his country of origin. Anyone else remember Lupe Santiago/Viscara (featured on this blog back in the day) and his Mexican flags? I miss him.

Anyway, Nicholls still looks good so I hope the WWE doesn't ruin him like they've ruined so many before.

    1. My money says it will only take 6 months before the WWE will have them in long tights with shoulder length hair.

    2. UGH! Stringy, long, wet, dirty, greasy hair must be what WWE want & fans love. Since I am not one, I don't really know.

I have followed Haste for years and wished every day of them that he could get rid of that tatt. Maybe some behemoth wrestler with huge hands could grasp and rip the offending pec right off.

      TT

    3. Absolutely. I think I have described it elsewhere as looking like a festering wound. Anon.

  2. Cool to see TMDK here in NXT. They're cool and it sounds like the action is hot, if they're taking a beating before coming back in the end. I actually really like the tag scene NXT has going on, so it's probably the best place in the country for them to shine.

  3. Haste looks a bit leaner than he did Down Under. Not a complaint, mind you. Just an observation.

  4. I noticed the slimming too. On both I believe. I'm a little saddened by that, so this is a complaint, though small. Ironically, Steven Walter is in this post too who I complain has gotten bigger. Hotness and sexiness are such weird metrics.

    1. I'm trying to think of a case where I stopped following a wrestler because he got too thin.

There are plenty of cases where they got too fat, lol.

    2. I'll admit, when Chris Masters slimmed down it was a bit of a turnoff for me at first. I'm guessing he was more natural at the time. Guess I'm encouraging roids. Sigh.

Honestly relooking at these photos, I barely recognize Haste even in the face. His tatts remind me it's him. It makes me sad he's lost so much of his sexiness by losing that extra Umff in his ass and arms just when he's being used as the muscle victim he plays so well.

    3. I don't really have a problem with the more slimmed-down Nicholls, Haste, and Masters, but you're right that they were better before.

I remember Masters appeared at a time when I was quickly losing interest in the WWE. But as soon as I saw that body in those red trunks I was like, "Maybe it's worth sticking around." Then I kinda lost interest again until I saw the even hotter DiBiase Jr. Woof. All the DiBiase brothers (yes, including half-brother Mike!) were so hot and none of them are wrestling anymore. Why can't we have nice things?!?

    4. Nice things get taken away probably because of all the dirty thoughts in your head JM ;)

    5. Tee hee.

But it's pretty interesting how some of us (myself included) turn on certain wrestlers when they alter/experiment with their look. For me, one example is Tommaso Ciampa, who has a beautiful body but is too fond of altering his appearance. One trainwreck decision which temporarily turned me off him was his decision to dye his (facial) hair blonde. I thought that was gross. And he's also a bit too No-Shave-November with that beard--he looked better without it (in his earlier years). The beard, though, I'm willing to overlook, so long as it remains his natural hair color.

The slightest/strangest alterations can make me recoil, lol.

Anyway, Ciampa is with the WWE now and his appearance (trunks are a must on him!) has remained intact... for now.

  5. Glass houses, Eli, glass houses!

Myself, I live in a crystal palace, so I risk tossing a stone or two at y'all.

Wouldn't you love to see a drawn-out match between Tank Toland and Chris Masters? One in which the Master Lock is as useless to Masters as Kryptonite is to Superman? Masters' shoulder musculature would lend itself to prolonged abuse which just might disable him by Toland's powerful fingers digging deeply into Master's rather extended neck.

Bruno has as good a collection of Toland as exists--see the blog's wrestler column. Wonder where Toland is today. TT

  6. It does seem like TMDK have both lost a little bit of weight, but either way, I’ll take as much of these two as the ‘wwe’ will give us… the sooner they move up to the main roster the better… and take Revival with them.
